5 Friday Favorites: Character Names

five friday favorites

Today I am beginning my participation in the meme create by Book Badger called 5 Friday Favorites. Basically, she has posted a topic for every Friday and the participants create their top 5 list of the topic provided. Simple right? And fun! This week’s topic is favorite character names. Her is my list

1. Four

That is one of the more simplistic and original names I have come across so far. It also reminds everyone how awesome he is, especially Eric.

2. Katniss Everdeen

Not only is she a kick-ass chick, she has a really pretty name to boot.

3. Elphaba Thropp

If you aren’t sure where this one comes from, Elphaba is the real name of the Wicked Witch of the West. You can find this out in Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. Plus she is green, has sharp teeth, and a one of a kind name. And because Glinda is just so common.

4. Hermione Granger

The Harry Potter series is chock full of crazy names, Hermione Granger is one of the best. When I was reading these books, I honestly didn’t know how to pronounce her name. It’s a good thing the movies were made or I would never have been corrected.

5. Daenerys Targaryen

I am Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen. Rightful heir to the Iron Throne, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the Rhoynar, and the First Men. I am the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, and Breaker of Chains. The Khaleesi,Daenerys Targaryen.

With an name that holds that much awesomeness, how can it not be one of my top 5 character names? Her name strikes fear in the hearts of her enemies and pride in the hearts of her followers. Not to mention how beautiful she is.
